Thyroid Hormones have physiological effects on the basal metabolic rate, fat mobilization, insulin metabolism, normal growth in children, heart rate, cardiac output, arterial pressure, mental/emotional states and fertility. Causes of thyroid dysfunction may range from emotional/physical stress to heavy metal toxicity, autoimmune conditions and inflammation, radiation exposure, pregnancy or even growths on the gland.Thyroid conditions include hypothyroid, hyperthyroid, Grave’s Disease, Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease, or Wilson’s Syndrome which is due to an enzyme deficiency.
